How Pioneer Bank's new HQ is setting up a regional brand

A new, massive, digital sign measuring 65 feet wide by 4 1/2 feet tall greets commuters getting off the Northway Interstate 87. Pioneer Bank is emblazoned in green LED lights.

It is the latest addition as Pioneer finishes construction on its four-story, 60,000-square-foot headquarters near the corner of Wolf and Albany Shaker roads in Colonie, New York. The move is part of a three-year strategic plan to grow the bank, which was headquartered in Troy, and develop a regional brand.

"This will help us establish branding in a much more visible location," said CEO Tom Amell during an interview and tour of the new building, which is still under construction. "The design of the building and everything matches our new brand.”

The new headquarters stands at the corner of one of the busiest intersections in the Albany area with more than 60,000 cars passing by each day.
