Let the countdown begin! One week til the 2018 AIA Conference on Architecture at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. It’s a “Super Bowl” for Good Design, and something my colleagues and I look forward to every year.
On June 21st and 22nd, we’ll park our Decorative Opening Solutions Mobile Showroom on the Expo Floor at booth #1207, and talk non-stop with old friends and new who share our passion for Architecture, Interior Design, Sustainability, and the built environment. Sore feet have never been more worth it!
When I learned that this year’s Conference theme is “Blueprint for Better Cities,” I was absolutely thrilled. ASSA ABLOY’s door and hardware solutions are contributing so much, in so many ways, to the life safety, security, energy efficiency, and sustainability. They are also creating positive experiences and outcomes for the occupants in schools and universities, hospitals, hotels, offices and multi-family housing facilities in cities across the U.S.
“Building better” is why we go to work every day. In schools and universities for example, security has never mattered more. ASSA ABLOY has responded with an Attack Resistant Door Opening Solution that every school and university Design Architect should know about. Our Attack Resistant Door Opening Solution will be on display at booth #1207, and we’re really eager to talk about it.
Talking with Architects, Designers and Manufacturers – and learning – is the hands-down highlight of our participation in the AIA Conference each year. One thing we’ve learned for sure, is that aesthetics – great Door and Hardware design – matter. And while great looking Doors and Hardware won’t save lives, they sure can improve them.
What we’ve heard loud and clear from Design Professionals and their Clients in the past twelve months is that “off-the-shelf” building products just won’t do. So we’ve responded with a custom hardware design program and finish offering that’s second to none. Seriously, it’s best-in-class, and I can’t wait to share it with the Architects and Designers who visit our exhibit at the Expo.
By the way, not that we’ve ever needed an excuse to party, but we’ll be celebrating our new “champagne” hardware finish with a champagne pour from 4 – 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 21st in our booth, #1207. Join us and raise a glass!
Until the 21st then, safe travels to the Big Apple! See you soon.
